TRUE OCCULT CRIMES
From 1980 To
1989

Satanist Thrill Killer Ricky Kaso in handcuffs

1980 Walden, CO In March, witches David and Pamela Covey die in an apparent  murder suicide pact. The bodies of both were wearing occult jewelry, and a police search of their home turned up numerous occult books on witchcraft and ritual magic. Other evidence at the crime scene lead police to believe the murder-suicide was a ritual crime as well. (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1980 Wauchula, Florida a psychic and tarot card reader who billed herself as "Sister Anna" was arrested for fraud when police recieved complaints from victims who had been bilked out of thousands. One victim claimed to have paid a total of $5,000 to remove a "curse" the psychic said was placed on her by a witch. Despite the negative publicity in the local T.V. and newspapers, the business was sold to yet another "psychic". The business changed hands a few more times over the years, but continued to be occupied by psychics, tarot card readers, palm readers, etc., for years , and apparently had no trouble attracting suckers...er, customers that is. In 2004 when Hurricane Charlie struck, the then current "psychic" parked his Corvette next to a billboard before the storm hit. The storm caused the sign to fall on the car, totalling it. One would think with psychic powers he would have forseen it. As of October 2007 the business appears to have finally closed for good and is now a private residence. (The Herald Advocate)

1980 NYC, New York Nut job Mark David Chapman assassinates ex-Beatle John Lennon, devestating millions of fans worldwide. What is not widely known is that Chapman is a self styled Satanist. Chapman abandoned Christianity in 1977 and turned to Satan worship, but I'd say he'd have been better off being a Christian. After he botched a suicide attempt, he took it as a "sign from Satan". Chapman claimed he then prayed to Satan to make him "totally psycho" and apparently got his wish. He is spending the rest of his life in prison for murder. (AP)

1980 Bangalore, India Swami Laxman Giri, 69,  is arrested by Indian authorities for making human sacrifices. Giri was the leader of a Kali cult in a rural area of India near Banaglore. His preferred victims were children age 6 and under. Giri lured the children to rural cites by promising them candy, and then slitting their throats. It was done to provide he and his followers "immortality". He died of natural causes in a hospital a few days after his arrest four days later before he could stand trial. The body count is unknown, but authorities fear the sacrifices may have gone back decades. Swami now faces an even higher authority. 1981 , Singapore: In Nov., A self described medium named Adrian Lim, 46, his wife, Tan Mui Choo, 34, and his girlfriend Hoe Kah Hong, 33, were convicted in 1983 of murdering Agnes Ng Siew Heok, eight, and Ghazali Marzuki, 10, Agnes Ng was a 9 year old schoolgirl who attended the Holy Innocents Chinese Girls School, and was the youngest of nine children of a Roman Catholic family. The three perpetrators belonged to a cult that combined Hinduism and Bhuddism and believed sacrificing children could "bring good luck".  Adrian Lim was a 39 year old who was unemployed and who professed to be a medium with powers to cure people's ailments. He would go into trances, often adopting different voices and speaking in a different language. He also performed tricks, and had convinced many of his clients to sleep with him, on the pretext of "cleansing" the evil in them, or simply through harnessing to his advantage their fears and insecurities.

Police later discovered their flat contained a bizarre juxtaposition of various religious items, Hindu as well as Chinese idols, some of which were smeared with blood, and even crucifixes. The three drank the children's blood after suffocating them in a bathtub. The children had also been sexually assaulted.  Another news report writes that the "macabre ritualistic killings included drinking the children's blood, trances, and electric shock 'treatments.'" The three were hanged in 1988. I guess it didn't bring them good luck, afterall. (Reuters)

1981 Souix City, Iowa Satanists Randolph S. Bugh, 21  and Jason B. Darah, 17, receive 75 years in prison each for the Spring Equinox rape of a 15 year old runaway girl. Fellow Satanist Jayme Moore, 20, received 25 years for his role. The trio crashed a party, and chatted the girl up, who went with them to an all night store to steal cigarettes. After that, they took her to a Catholic cemetery, beat her, raped her repeatedly, urinated on her, and hit her head against a tombstone. During the episode, the 3 Satanists chanted "spells". All 3 men had been well known in the community to have been involved in black magic.

After the rape, the 3 drove back to the store and ordered her to steal more cigarettes. When she got inside, the terrified girl told the store manager what happened, who notified police. At the booking, when asked his religion, one rapist replied, “Satanism! I just want to kill somebody!” (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1981 Los Angeles Black Magic practitioner Vernon Butts is arrested for murder and commits suicide in jail awaiting trial. Butts was an occultist as well as a stage magician. He kept a casket in his house that he and his girfriend (a self described Wiccan) often had sex in. Butts admitted to participating in the "Highawy Killings" between 1979-1980. Butts admitted to six killings, along with co-murderer and ringleader William Bonin, and described  the whole thing as "a good little nightmare". He should have just stuck to pulling rabbits out of hats. (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1981, Sacramento, California - A Self-proclaimed Satanist named Kimberly Goytia, age 13 is arrested for the shooting death of her sister. She tells police the killing was part of a "Satanic sacrifice". Goyita saw the movie The Omen when she was 8 years old in 1976 and became obsessed with the Devil. She bought several copies of the book and the later sequels as well. Her mother told friends Kim dressed in black, growled like an animal, and burned black candles in Satanic rituals.

She only recieved a conviction for manslaughter and was eventually released on parole...supposedly at a time when America is unjustly persecuting Satanists (according to Satanists anyway). I recieevd an email from someone claiming to be a friend of Kimberly who said she is  "doing fine".  Such cannot be said for her victim, of course. Hopefully she has ditched Satanism now that she has a second chance on life. (AP)

The victims were each stabbed 17 times as part of the ritualistic sacrifice. Although Costal's defense attn. called the trial a "modern day witch hunt", it was the testimony of Costal's friends that ultimatley convicted him. Micheal Atkinson, Costals gay lover was a key witness and had been charged in the murders a month earlier. Costal recieved life imprisonment. (AP)

1981 Chicago, Illinois Robin Getch, a former employee of homosexual serial killer John Wayne Gacy, and three associates, Edward Spreitzer and brothers Andrew and Thomas Kokoraleis, had a Satanic cult suspected for the murders of at least 18 women in Chicago. Known as "the Ripper Crew", Gecht and his gang drove around in a van looking for prostitutes to sacrifice in Gecht's apartment. They would remove one breast from each victim and eat it as part of a Satanic ritual. Getch and his friends were arrested in 1982 for the stabbing of a teenaged prostitute, and the three confessed. Robin is serving 120 years in Menard Correctional Center for mutilating and raping an 18-year-old prostitute.

Fellow cultist Edward Spreitzer and Andrew Kokoraleis were sentenced to death. Kokoraleis' brother Thomas was sentenced to life for his role in the murders. On March 16, 1999, Andrew Kokoraleis was executed by lethal injection at Tamms Correctional Center in Southern Illinois for the 1982 strangulation murder of Lorraine Borowski, a 21-year-old secretary at a real estate office that was abducted on her way to work. Her mutilated body was found in a cemetery. On March 7, 1999, David A. Gecht, the son of Robin, and two others, were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a Northwest Side man. The killing is believed be to gang-related, police said. 1982 Telford, England- Satanists Malcolm and Susan Smith of  Southgate Sutton Hill Telford, and Albert and Carole  Hickman of Chockleys Meadow Leegomery Telford, all pleaded guilty to a series of serious sexual offences against young  children. Mrs Hickman deluded herself that she had the power of a witch and  gathered  together the  various  trappings  of  devil worship. She  conducted a Satanic wedding for her sister and brother-in-law after which  Mrs  Smith  became  a  novice in devil worship. Smith believed he had the right to sex with any girl he chose, and  of any  age, [Do What Thou Will] and encouraged the women to bring younger girls within the ring.

One 15 year old girl who was brought in became  so convinced he was Satan that she  allowed  him  to brand her with a hot dagger, he said. Malcolm Smith  had admitted  unlawful  sexual intercourse with a girl under  16,  committing  an  indecent  act  on her, and causing her grievous bodily  harm.  His  wife  pleaded  guilty to aiding and abetting him on each  occasion. They also both admitted two offences of indecent assaults on young girls.Smith was jailed  for  14  years.  Hickman  for ten years. Carole Hickman for five years, and Susan for two years. 1982 Denver Colorado - William Acree is arrested and charged with operating a male prostitution ring. Police first began the investigation after several  complaints about a child prostitution ring with mostly male prostitutes. After interrogating several runaways, police were tipped off to Donald Bradley, a 17 y.o. who lead a “coven” of teen male prostitutes. Bradley in turn lead the police to his "Master", Donald Acree. Acree was the founder of a Denver halfway house, the Williams Street Center. Acree got his pimp’s share of the take, and also used the boys for sex. Bradley acted as “enforcer”, using threats of Satanic curses to keep the other boys in line. Police noticed  the runaway kids involved all had tattoos of Satanic symbols and Nazi insignia. The investigation led to Acree's "coven" and then to Acree himself. Acree recieved just 5 years in jail, with a suspended 5 year sentence, pending psychaitric treatment. (AP)

1982 Logan, Ohio Dale Johnson was falsley accused for the murder of his daughter and her boyfriend. He remained on Ohio’s death row for more than five years and was incarcerated for more than seven years. The conviction was overturned  by the Ohio Supreme Court because the prosecution withheld evidence , and a witness had been hypnotized. He was released in 1990, and all charges were dropped.  Johnson is currently active in his religious community and an advocate working to abolish the death penalty.  At the time Police chose ignore evidence that the murders seemed "cult related", as one newpaper described them. The victims bodies were  dismembered, with parts buried in a cornfield just outside of Logan. Other remains were dumped in the Hocking River. The homocides still remains unsolved. 1983 Dusseldorf, Germany Sylvia Brakel is sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Spanish immigrant Jose Luis Mateo Fernadez. Fernandez had been killed with a single blow to the heart with a knife, and the murder had been staged to look like a suicide. However, upon searching the squalid 2 room apartment, cops found a woman’s diary belonging to Brakel. The first page read “Whoever reads this will be damned for all eternity”. The cops read further and found the owner was obsessed with Satanism and witchcraft. The entry for Walpurgisnacht, (April 31st ) 1982 read “Lucifer. Price of Darkness, give me a sign” and contained a promise to giver herself wholly to the Devil. Brakel had a suspended sentence from 1981, involving a stabbing with her lover. Fernandez and Brakel had an “open reationship”, with Brakel and Fernandez sharing their bed with many other women. Brakel and Fernandez belonged to a local Satanic cult, with Brakel serving as the nude altar, just like in the Satanic Bible. The other members of the cult told police Brakel had killed Fernandez in an argument, oddly enough, about infidelity. (Reuters)

1983 Detroit Michigan  Linda Green (a cop) and Arzell Jones were convicted and sentenced to prison for the kidnapping, beating, drugging, and sexual assault upon a woman. The pair kidnapped a woman from a nightclub for use in a sex magic ritual. During the assault the woman was forced to chant "Satan is my master. I denounce the words of Jesus Christ.", over and over. If the purpose of the ritual was to land the two in prison, I'd say it worked. (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1983 Las Vegas , NV Concerned  when Cynthia McQueen missed work, a friend phoned her apartment. McQueen’s 3 y.o. daughter answered the phone, and said “Mommy’s broken. She has a big owwie”. Phillip Galimas, her abuse boyfriend, was arrested as the killer. Gillimas had numerous run ins with the law, and spent a few months in a mental asylum.  Galimas bragged to a facility psychiatrists that he was big and bad, and cited his involvement with Satanism and witchcraft as the proof. He was sentenced to life in prison, eligible for parole in 2004. (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1984, Newport Long Island, NY  Teenage Satanists Richard Kasso and James Troiano are arrested for the ritual slaying of a fellow "stoner.", Gary Lauwers.  All involved, including the victim, were avide reader's of Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible. It was the only book Kasso owned in fact. Kasso and Troiano were not the typical kids next door. Troiano had been arrested a few weeks before on a burglary charge. Kasso had been arrested previously for robbing a grave to use the skull and hand in a ritual. Both were drug dealers who lived on the streets. The Satanists allegedly once made a "pilgrimage" to the infamous Amytiville house while unoccupied, constructing an altar in the front yard and doing a ceremony. The media wrongly claimed the teens belonged to a cult of Satanists called "The Knights of the Black Circle", but the Black Circle was apparently another group of drug addicted deliquents. Swell town, Newport. Gary Lauwers owed Kasso $50 for drugs, and apparently this is why he was chosen for sacrifice.

Jimmy Troiano admitted in court that he kicked Gary Lauwers in the side breaking his ribs, and held him in a head lock while Ricky "Acid King" Kasso repeatedly stabbed him in the back. As he was being murdered,  Lauwers was told repeatedly "Say you love Satan!" until he finally did , as Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon played in the background on tape. Kasso hung himself in jail awaiting trial 2 days later; Troiano is acquitted in 1985 after a key prosecution witness, Albert Quinones (who was also present and helped bury the body, but granted immunity for his testimony)  admitted he had used  drugs too, on the night of the crime. Troiano litterally gets away with murder, despite his own confession on the witness stand that he held Lauwers as Kasso stabed him. Hopefully, he turned his life around.

Kasso and Troiano had a teacher. Known as "Pat Pagan", he was an alcoholic Vietnam vet in his late 30s who lived on a disabilty pension (he was "shell shocked"). Pagan claimed he had been part of a coven in Vietnam, and wore a Pentagram necklace that all the members wore. The other 12 members had allegedly been killed in Vietnam. Pagan apparently combined Wicca, Voodoo, Satanism, and anything else in his brand of witchcraft. Pat Pagan had an altar in his house, told practically everyone he met about his occult interests, and could often be seen talking to Newport's teens. Pagan befriended Kasso and Toirano and the trio participated in occult rituals at Pagan's crash pad, which was said to have been packed with occult items he had collected over the years.

Kasso was wearing Pagan's Pentagram necklace around his neck when he sacrificed Lawuyers. Kasso lost the necklace in the struggle, and it was found by the police with the Gary Lauwers decomposing body 2 weeks later. After the murder of Lauwers, the police questioned Pat Pagan, who denied any involvement or knowledge of the slaying whatsoever. The police bought his story and let him go. However Pagan comitted suicide a few days later by standing in front of a train. All this suggests he was probably more involved in the sacrifice than he admitted. 1984 Las Vegas, NV While Satanist Deron Knepp was talking on the telephone, friend and fellow Satanist Sage Taylor Francis went “boxcutter” on him, cutting his throat and cutting out his tongue. Just before that, the two boys had been freebasing and chatting about Satanism. Taylor had planned to go to San Francisco to visit “the head Devil”, LaVey himself. Taylor had planned to use the money and drugs from Knepp’s sacrifice to finance the pilgrimage. However, he played too much in the victim’s blood, and was picked up covered in it by police as a result, as he tried to thumb a ride out of town. Knepp somehow survived the assault, and Taylor later confessed to the crime. He got 15 years in the juvie “Ricon” program. His lawyer claimed he was “born again” in prison, which seems to happen to a lot of criminal Satanists upon arrest. Some of you Satanists might just want to become born again and skip the crime and imprisonment part of the whole thing. 1984 Carl and Colleen Gordon were murdered execution style in their home as part of a Satanic “get rich quick” scheme. Their grandson, 19 y.o. Satanist Dale Flanagan, decided that the quickest way to get his inheritance was to murder his two grandparents that had always doted on him. Ironically, the Gordon’s never made out a will, unbeknownst to Flanagan at the time. Flanagan  and 5 other friends, Randy Moore, 18, Roy McDowell, 18, Tomas Akers, 18, Johnny Luckett, 17, and Michael Walsh, 17, who formed a Satanic coven, decide to kill the Gordon’s and make it look like a break-in. But they didn’t do such a hot job, which lead to their arrests.

Flanagan later told police he was a “black magician” and that it wasn’t the highest level of Satanism, but "one of the higher ranks". At the trial his ex-girlfriend tolf jurors that at the time of the murders, “Obviously they were into it to the point they had no moral values left”. Aker’s plead guilty to manslaughter and received 5 years probation in exchange for testifying against the others. Flanagan and Moore received the death penalty. Walsh received 4 life terms. Luckett received life w.o. parole. McDowell received life eligible for parole in 2035.

Flanagan told reporters while being transported to death row he knew of other covens and other human sacrifices, but later declined to give out details under advice of his attorney. Flanagan’s path to ruin began when he and Moore heard a lecture about Satanism by a Satanist at a university in 1980. The pair began to get involved in the occult from that point on. (Reuters)

1984 Miami, FL Cuban immigrant Frank Escalona Francisco had a criminal record, including shooting someone in a road rage incident in 1969 when he opened an unlicensed daycare in ‘84. In 1981 he sexually assaulted a 9 y.o. girl, and got off with a slap on the wrist with 2 years probabtion.  His wife was an illegal alien, Illiana Fuster. They were married when she was 16, in 1983 and reportedly could pass for 12 or 13. Children left at the daycare began to act strange when at home.

Parents noticed rashes, nightmares, and sexual behavior in their kids. One kid told his mother that Illiana kissed all the babies privates. The parents began to compare notes, and discovered all the children at the daycare were showing signs of abuse. The police were called in, and in questioning the children revealed Frank and Iliana sexually assaulted them, and wore Frankestein and Dracula masks to frighten them and made to watch horror movies. They were also threatened with knives not to tell. The children were sometimes made to have sex with other children.

The pair sacrificed birds over their kitchen sink while chanting to Satan and “the god of ghosts”. Bird sacrifice is used in Hispanic sorcery, particularly Mexican Brujaria, and "La Santisma Muerte", the spirit of death, is worshiped like a god. Frank and Illiana had also videotaped the events, but police bungled the investigation, & Frank managed to remove the tapes before they searched the house...even with neighbors phoning the police warning them Frank was moving several boxes of stuff out of the house.
Frank called in a Santeria priest to cast a spell of protection in the house, but it didn’t work.

But some evidence did remain, including incriminating kiddie porn. One  picture showed a child lifting Illiana’s dress to reveal her fecal soiled underpants. Another picture showed Frank and Illiana in Frankenstien and Dracula masks, even though they had gotten rid of the masks before police searched the house. Illiana turned state’s evidence on Frank, and sealed his fate.

At trial she described how Frank and sexually abused the children and forced her to do likewise. He would sometimes rape and beat her in front of the children, and frighten the children with halloween masks and psychotic games such as chasing them around the house with a knife. When he was really angry, he would smear feces on her, violate her with a  crucifix, and threaten to violate her with a power drill.

She also confirmed the bird sacrifices and Frank's involvement in Santeria. Frank got 6 life sentences and will never live to harm a child again. While in prison he tried to put a hit out on Illiana, offering video kiddie p0rn for payment. Illiana received 10 years + 10 years probation. Even though some of the stories of “Satanic child daycare abuse” are bunk, this one was definitely not.(Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

The bikers of course denied the items were theirs, and were not arrested. (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1984 San Fransiscco Police were called when Howard Anton Levey, a.k.a, Anton Szandor LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan and author of the Satanic Bible, strangled his common law Wife Diane (nee Hegarty) into unconsciousness. Daughter Karla LaVey pulled her poor stepmom outside to save her life . Diane would later sue LaVey for half his property, and claim LaVey had physically abused her throughout their 26 year relationship. LaVey also had other incidents with the law.

Daughter Zeena claims LaVey was the passive witness to the molestation of his own grandson, Stanton, in 1986 by one of LaVey's friends who was later convicted of sex crimes with minors, although LaVey was not charged with any wrong doing. Zeena herself was impregnated at age 14 by a Church of Satan member purported in his 30's. LaVey's was once arrested due to his lion's (named Togare) unruly behavior and LaVey was ordered to donate it to the San Francisco Zoo. The animal had been mistreated by LaVey (he used an eletric cattle prod on him) and Togare had to recieve special treatment the remainder of his life.  Defector P.E.I. Bonewitz claimed LaVey blackmailed some of the members of Church of Satan to supplement his income. (LaVey family members)

Though never charged formally, LaVey was said to have pimped out female followers and beat them when they didn't bring back enough money as part of his "Satanic sex therapy" scam. He also claimed in the 1960's he presided over a "cannibal feast" of a human leg procured from a hospital, which would have certainly landed the diners in jail had they got caught. Many of the members of the Church of Satan in the 1960's were members of Law Enforcment (ah, those California cops!), which is presumed by many why LaVey avoided legal entanglements most of the time.

LaVey was on the right side of the law in one incident, when in 1979 he reported to the F.B.I. that someone had tried to  contract the Church of Satan to make a contract killing on a U.S. Senator. During the interview with the Feds, LaVey told them he had become "disillusioned with Satanism" at the time, but apparently went back into his rut later on. LaVey filed for bankruptcy in 1992, and died from pulomnary edema in 1997. (LaVey family members, Real Magic by P.E.I. Bonewitz)

1984 Sanford, Maine 12 year old Gycelle Cote is found murdered in the Mousam River. Rumors had spread throughout the small town a few months earlier that a Satanic cult was going to carry out a human sacrifice on Halloween. After several people recieve threatening letters signed "The Cult", police arrest several youths, and people dismss the whole things as a prank. Eyewitnesses placed Scott Waterhouse with the girl the day of the murder. When questioned by the cops, Waterhouse, a juvenille deliquent with a history of medical problems,  at first denied killing the girl but then babbled on and on about Satanism.

His involvement in Satanism dated back to 1983 after reading Lavey's Satanic Bible. He said after that he began to question why God allows bad things happen and enjoied the idea of Satanism's "whatever floats your boat" philosophy. Upon investigation Police discovered evidence linking him to the murder, and other threatening letters Waterhouse was writing that were similar to the ones from Halloween. He was convicted and given life in prison with no chance of parole. Now he'll have a lot of time to wonder why Satan allows bad things to happen. 1985 Houston, TX On 8-5-85 a Satanic Cult comprised of  Harold Glenn Smith, Martin Wayne Tosh, Michael Gene Cravey, Shannon Rivera, and Bridgette Stowe, ages ranging from 16-18, had grown tired of sacrificing animals and decided to move on to bigger game. Smith, known as “The Wizard”, decided to sacrifice Dennis Keith Medler to Satan, because he previously had kicked he and Tosh out of his home. Lured to a secluded area on the ruse of picking psychedelic mushrooms, all took turns slashing his throat. Smith told the victim’s lifeless body, “Hey Keith, it was nothing person, we just wanted to see someone die.”“The Wizard” received life, plus a $10,000 fine.

Stowe was not present at the killing, and testified against the others. Cravey received life and was also later charged with the murder of Ronald Monohan. Trimmer pleaded guilty and recieved two concurrent 60 year terms. Tosh plead guilty and received 20 years for his part. Rivera received 15 years, eligible for parole in 2 years, as the jury decided she hadn’t used a deadly weapon in the sacrifice. Police suspect the cult also sacrificed 16 y.o. Wayne Schubert, and a teenage “Jane Doe”, but lack of confessions or enough evidence prevented the cases from being prosecuted.  (Raising Hell: An Encyclopedia of Devil Worship and Satanic Crime by Michael Newton )

1985 San Francisco, CA On 6-15-85 police recovered the body of “John Doe #60" from an auto salvage yard. The man had been tortured and sexually abused over a period of several days before his killers finally cut a gash in his perineal area causing him to slowly bleed to death. A pentagram had been carved into his chest and there was black candle wax present in his hair and right eye socket. The break in the case came from responding to a disturbing the peace call 9 days later. Two patrolmen arrived at the residence of Clifford St. Joseph in the middle of a homosexual S & M Satanic ritual with 3 friends. Clifford St. Joseph had no apparent connection to the Church of Satan, but did have connections to the O.T.O., (which had an 11th homosexual degree). Rather than a nude female altar, a 19 y.o. male was bound and stripped naked inside a circle of black candles on the floor & being whipped and assaulted, and fortunately the cops arrival prevented him from being John Doe #61.

Paramedics rushed him to a rape center where he later recounted Clifford had met him at a gay bar, later drugged him and held him prisoner, where he was repeatedly assaulted by he and Maurice Bork, and other Satanists who dropped by for the event.  The participants were all dressed in black robes, a human skull with a black candle adorned the mantel, and The Satanic Bible was being used in the proceedings. Bork later jumped bail, but was recaptured after an armed robbery in 1987.

Bork admitted to participating in the killing of John Doe #60 during a Satanic ritual, in which the victim’s blood was collected in a gold chalice and drunk as a toast to Satan. Clifford St. Joseph was convicted of first degree murder and received 25 years to life. The other unidentified participants were never caught, and still remain at large. 1985 Lynchburg, VA Steel executive Derek Haysom, 72 y.o., and his wife Nancy, 53 y.o., were found slain in their home. Police determined robbery was not the motive, and there was Satanic grafitti at the crime scene, including a red triangle painted on the wall in the victim's blood, and "666" carved on the wooden floor. Police later find letters by the Haysom's daughter, Elizabeth Roxanne Haysom, 22y.o., which implicate her in the crime. Elizabeth had fled to the U.K. and was living under an assumed name. She was arrested in London on check forgery, and extradicted to the U.S. She was later convicted in a Virgina court for the double homocide and recieved 90 years.

Friends of the family described Elizabeth as headstrong, eccentric, and facinated by the occult. Her boyfriend, Jens Soering, a West German national, was believed to have also participated in the crime. He had also been arrested in London with Elizabeth for check forgery, but the West German government would not allow Soering to be extradicted to any country where he might recieve the death penality. Police search his rural home and discover skeletal remains of 25 victims, along with tapes of the rapings and slayings commited with his partner in crime, Vietnamese immigrant Charles Ng. Upon questioning, Lake's ex-wife reveals Lake had often bragged about membership in a "coven of witches" that met in San Fransisco.

Former neighbors also recalled Lake claiming to belong to a "death cult" that practiced ritual sacrifice...but no one bothered to take him seriously. Ng stood trial on 12 counts of murder in 1998, after a long extradition battle with Canada. He was convicted of 11 murders, those of six men, three women and two baby boys, and was sentenced to death. The murder trial of Ng was tied up for years even after his extradition battle with Canada, because Ng would fire his court appointed attorney before the trial began, causing an automtaic mistrial under California law. ng was doing this just to screw with the courts. Eventually a law was passed specifically because of this guy, that no longer allowed mistrials for firing attorneys. He is currently on death row at San Quentin State Prison.(AP)

1986 San Diego, California Satanists Lori Bartz and Robert Wilkins were  both convicted of eight counts of lewd and lacivious acts on children. The couple seemed to always have neighborhood kids at their house at all hours, which made authorities suspcious. Suspicions were confirmed when parents of children molested by the two came forward. Bartz and Wilkins used Satanic imagery in their abuse of children. Sometimes Bartz would gnaw on a plastic ram and use ventriloquism saying "This is the Devil, do what I say". When parents would find out about the abuse, the duo would threaten them with curses and the show of firearms. At the trial the defense tried to plead that "another Salem witch hunt" was taking place. But the overwhelming evidence persuaded the jury otherwise. Aquino was never formally tried for any crime from the investigation, but the incident continues to haunt him...partly because he kept going on TV talk shows like Oprah and Geraldo to comiserate about it.

One cannot help but see the irony that Satanists claim "individual responsibility for one's actions", yet when a grown man cuts his hair in an Eddie Munster widow's peak, plucks his eyebrows, tatooes "666" on his scalp, always dresses like Dracula, and heads a Satanic cult where he claims he talks directly to the Devil, he suddenly seems shocked and butt hurt when people think he's a weirdo. Prior to this incident, Aquino had appeared in newspaper articles with headlines like "Satanist is Colonel in Army". The army began to recieve hundreds of complaint letters from people who couldn't understand how a Devil worshipper got a high level security clearance and answered only to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It's said Aquino was made to retire sooner than he would have wished as result of all the attention. But at least he didn't go to prison for something he didn't do.

The woman was horrified to discover she was next to the corpse of a previous vitim, also a young female, with blond shoulder length hair, who had been stabbed to death. The victim said he first donned surgical gloves and took off his blue jumpsuit, revealing a "silver necklace with satanic pentagram".

People who dismiss Metamoros are ignoring certain facts, such as drug dealers prefer the Santeria religion, because it's lack of a set of moral commandments allow them to indulge in their lifestyle without fear of spiritual retribution. It also promises power and protection from the police and DEA.  Cuban born Adolpho Constanzo started out as a fortune teller in Miami and was introduced into the Santeria cult by his mother, who had a reputation in Miami's Little Havana as a witch. People who got on her bad side would find slaughtered chiken and candles on their doorstep. In 1983 Adolpho  left Miami for Mexico City, Mexico for a lucrative job as a male model, in addition to being a fortune teller and sorcerer. Drug dealers hired him for protection spells, and seemed impressed.

Eventually, Costanzo muscled his way into a drug cartell as a partner, and eventually had his own cartell. It's actually the other way around from what some apologists think. Collectiing followers along the way (including homosexual lovers), Constanzo and his cult eventually settled on a ranch near Metamorors, Mexico.  Like a Mexican version of the Manson Family, Constazo's cult graduated from drug smuggling and sex orgies to human sacrifice. On 5-28-88 rival dealer Hector de la Fuente and a farmer Moises Castillo were shot as a sacxrifice. Later a transvestite was dismembered and the remains dumped on a street corner. Then Jorge Gomez, (for snorting cocaine) in Nov., Eziquel Luna in Feb '89, along with two people who wondered in on the sacrifice. On 2-25-89 cult member Ovidio Hernandez gave his own 14 y.o. nephew as a sacririce.  Mexican authorities estimate that perhaps over a hundred men and women were sacrificed from the remains they eventually found.

The death of an American tourist, Mark Kilroy, prompted Mexico to look for the killers...after American authorities put pressure on Mexico because Kilroy had important relatives (an uncle who was a U.S. Customs Agent), that is. Ironically, Costanzo thought Kilroy would be the perfect sacrifice because he had blonde hair and blue eyes...and became the murder victim that got him busted. The big break came when one of the cultists ran a police road block. The man explained to the police the reason  he ran it was because he had beilieved he was invisble via magic powers. He wasn't, though. He even dared the police to shoot him, because he thought he was bullet proof.

13 of the cult's members went to prison. Adolpho died during the police raid in 1989. He ordered a follower to execute him, who then did.  Exactly what Adolpho practiced is debateable, as it probably wasn't Santeria. Adolpho had appraently graduated from Santeria to Palo Mayombe or Abaqa, a similar Cuban magical system that involves human sacrifice. Years later, former Cameron County Sheriff's Lt. George Gavito remembers thinking that unearthing Mark Kilroy's body from a ranch outside Matamoros, Mexico, would neatly wrap up the UT student's kidnapping and murder. "Before we knew it, we were digging up another one and another one and another one," Mr. Gavito said of his recollections of April 11, 1989.

Ultimately, 15 bodies were found at the ranch. "If it wasn't for Mark, these killings would probably be still going on because I don't think anybody would ever have found out that it happened there," he said. Today, there is little evidence on Rancho Santa Elena of what happened 10 years ago. Police destroyed the ceremonial shack shortly after the bodies were found, so weirdos won't make pilgrimages to there like the infamous Spanh Ranch. (Hell Ranch by Clifford L. Linedecker)

1989 Springfield, Oregon Self proclaimed Satanists Jason Wayne Rose and John Ray Jones went on trial for the brutal slayings, of 19 year old Melissa Ann Meyer, and Candace Michelle Roy, 17,  both killed as Satanic human sacrifices, without a doubt. Meyers body was found on 6-2-88, semi-nude, stripped of jewelry and her handbag. She had been bludegeoned to death. Candace Roy was found strangled a few days later on June 6th, less than five miles from where Meyer's body was discovered. Police noted similarities in both murders. Rose and Jones were turned into police by their girlfriends. Rose became acquainted with Meyers at school and chose her for sacrifice because she was a virgin. Rose had never made friends easily, he had a history of threatening people and delving into anti-social practices such as the occult and devil worship. When police raided his trailer, they discovered various grimories, rune stones (that Rose later confessed to Police had been used to decide the girl's fate), a home made spellbook, and a videotape of one of the ritual killings, which one of the cops called "a real life human sacrifice". There is no question the murders were occult related.

His defense attorney would tell the press ``It was just a hodgepodge of things he was dabbling in. He dabbled in the occult only to increase his own sense of worth." The defense also said the murders were drug deals gone sour, but the videotape of one of the sacrifices convinced jurors otherwise. Even while awaiting trial, authorities siezed an upside-down pentagram bearing the Satanic symbols of a goat's head and a bloody fingerprint from Rose's Lane County Jail cell, still failing to see the occult got him into this mess. It was unquestionably an occult motivated crime.  Jones plead guilty to overwhelming evidence instead of face a jury and recieved life in prison. The occult attracts psychos, make no mistake about it! ( I recieved a letter from a kid claimng he knew Rose, had the real Necronomicon, & was obviously trying to pull my chain. The real Necronomicon... PUH-LEASE! It even had fake clues for me to follow, as though me and the rest of the Scooby Doo gang were going to pile in the Mystery Machine to investigate. LOL! I'm not half as stupid as some of you must think!)

1989 Los Angeles, California 25 y.o. Texas drifter and Satanist Richard Rameriez, one of California's most prolific serial killers (Body count: 16) is sentenced to death for numerous counts of murder he commited as the "Night Stalker" killer between 1985 until his capture. Several of the victims during his barbaric crime spree were children that he raped and killed.  Rameriez seemed unimpressed and unremorseful by the verdict and vowed Lucifer would avenge him. "You don't understand me.", Rameriez told the courtroom.  As this member of the "Satanic alien elite" was led away in handcuffs by the guards, he flashed a pentagram tatoo in his hand and gave a gave a "Hail Satan" for the news cameras. In 1996 the Luciferian Light Group of Tampa Flroida (a Satanic Cult with NeoNazi leanings) gave a glowing report of Rameriez's marriage to some girl with aparrently zero self esteem (and brains to match) in their newsletter Onslaught. The group claimed to have a loose affilation with LaVey's Church of Satan. Ramierez once paid $100 to have a one hour audience with LaVey. LaVey later described Ramierez as "a quiet, polite kid". So much for the Church of Satan keeping out the "nut jobs".

1989 Jacksonville, Florida Ryan Tucker, 17, Forrest Joshua Robert, 17,  Bryan Tucker, 14 all pleaded to guilty to to numerous felonies related to the bombing of a police car, burglaries to a pair of  businesses and the arson of the churches and a high school ROTC building the previous fall and winter. The trio belonged to a Satanic cult. Assistant State Attorney Robert H. Fishback Jr. said Ryan Tucker had a shrine to Satan built in his bedroom and had upsidedown crosses and pentagrams -- both symbols of satanism -- painted on the walls. Fishback called the bedroom "ghastly and appalling." Fishback said Ryan Tucker and the teens pleaded guilty to setting fires or vandalizing the following churches in 1988: Faith United Methodist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Hunterdale Pentecostal Church and the Southside Church of God. Several charges related to other incidents at churches were dropped as part of the teens' plea agreement, Fishback said. The trio recieved more than a decade in prison for an arson and bombing spree last year that caused $50,000 to $100,000 damage to a half-dozen churches and a school. 1989 Camden County, N.J. officers discovered the newly opened grave of an infant in the cemetery. The body was undisturbed, although someone had dug down four feet before apparently being frightened off. Prior to this incident, the cemetery had been vandalized with runic writings and some tombstones turned over. After investigation, the police believed the unknown culprit was a Satanist who wanted to use the corpse in black magic rituals. Ya think??? (AP)
