Some would say, “Why all
the fuss in the fist place? All Churches are the same, right?” Mormon
theology is a radical departure form orthodox Christian theology. Mormonism is
closer to being a Gnostic Church than a traditional Christian church. Some areas
where Mormonism teachings differ from mainstream Christianity
are:
* Humankind’s purpose in life is to become
gods. God was a man just like us, who lived on another planet on a world like
ours. God is married and has basically “celestial sex” with his many goddess
wives to produce spirit offspring. People can become gods after they die
like god by going through secret temple rituals and living a moral
life.
*Christ’s death on the cross did not obtain
salvation for Christians. People are saved by works.
*Jesus was not the only begotten Son of God,
but merely, the firstborn of many spirit children. All the angels in heaven were
or will be incarnated into the bodies of people on the earth (the doctrine of
preexistence). Lucifer and the demons are the spirit brothers and sisters of
Jesus (as well as our spirit brothers and sisters). Since they fell, they did
not get bodies.
*The Bible cannot be trusted as scripture,
because it has been “mistranslated” (actually, more like deliberately altered in
the Mormon view). Other books, such as The Doctrine and Covenants, The
Pearl of Great Price, and The Book of Mormon are favored over the Bible.
*The Mormon Church is the only true Church -
- depending on which of the 150 or so Churcches that claim to follow Smith’s
teachings you’re talking about. The largest and most well known is the Church of
Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints with headquarters in Utah. The second largest,
althugh a distant second, is the Community of Christ (formerly called the
Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). Each church claims to
be the only true church. Outside of the Mormon Church, no one can attain
godhood, but will live in one of the lower 2 levels on heaven. People who leave
the Mormon Church will be condemned to Hell, along with other sinners.
So, you better decide if the Mormon Church is
true or not, or else you miss out on Godhood!
Mormons will tell you they don’t think the
Mormon church is true, they know it is. The reason they know this, is because
they prayed about it and got a feeling it was true, called the “burning in the
bosom”. This is shockingly similar to Gnostic cults of the past, who thought
they had obtained divine knowledge directly from God. In fact, Mormons have
quite a few things in common with Gnostic cults of the past, including the
belief the Jesus and Lucifer were brothers.

NUTSHELL
It all boils down to this:
THE VALIDITY OF MORMONISM IS ULTIMATELY
BASED ON THE TESTIMONY OF ONE MAN, JOSEPH SMITH JR. IF SMITH WAS A FALSE
PROPHET, THEN SO IT GOES MORMONISM IS WRONG.
If Smith was wrong, then Mormonism is also
wrong. I am presenting 7 irrefutable things which prove Joseph Smith was a false
prophet: Here they are (click on them to read in detail:
Now, I think you see from these 7 things that
Joseph Smith Jr. was a false prophet. I don’t write these things to hurt anyone
feelings, only that you will know the truth.
I know some of you say you feel the church is
right. But every follower of Joseph Smith, belonging to the other 150 sects,
each claiming to be true and the others of Satan, also say they have this same
feeling. How can all of you be right?
You CAN trust the Bible. Click on the Bible
Contradictions Answered section and you’ll see.
I invite you to know the real Jesus, not some
Gnostic creation of a false prophet. Jesus said many would come in his name and
deceive many. Paul said if even an angel of light preached another Gospel let
him be accursed.
If you’re reading this and thinking of
becoming a Mormon, please reconsider. Mormons will try to rush you through the
conversion process as quickly as they can. When I was 13, I joined to please my
dad, and got out after a year. (I still dabbled in the occult off and on even as
a Mormon) My first visit from the missionaries was on a Monday. I got
baptized on Saturday. On Sunday I was made a Deacon in the Priesthood of Aaron.
All that was in just 6 days! Don’t let anyone rush you.
If you’re a Mormon and you want to leave,
they will tell you that you have to have a “trial” to be excommunicated. Sounds
cult like, huh? The Mormons will try to brow beat you into staying. You
don’t have to go this “trial”, no one can make you, and they’ll have the trial
without you. Just write a letter and mail it to your branch or stake and
be done with it. In the long run, it’s better to be right than liked.
